Carol was born on the 29th September 1946 at home, 21 Coniston Road, Old Woking in Surrey. Her parents were Arthur James (Tubby) Woodhead and Edna May Daphne Woodhead (nee Champion). She was the youngest of three children, having an older sister Jill (b. 1939) and an older brother Barry (b.1944). She spent her formative years living in the Woking area, being an active member of the girl guides and sea rangers. Carol attended Westfield Infant School, then Westfield Junior School, where she passed her 11+. She then went on to Woking Girls Grammar. She was always active and keen on sports, turning her hand to most. She played hockey at county level. Carol continued her education at Nonnington College in Kent, studying physical education for women, where she qualified as a teacher. (Carol could also have made it as an entreprenuer as in her younger days she negotiated to clean Barrys football boots every Saturday & Sunday for a small fee, only to pass the task on to their Mum!) Whilst at Nonnington Carol met John, and they were soon married. For 42 years they were together, the best of friends. They moved to the Dover area, Carol teaching at Astor school, until she left to raise thier 3 sons, David, Richard and Simon. She returned to teaching, this time Maths, Science and eventually Special Needs (she had plenty of practice with her 3!!), until retirement in 2006. Carols life always involved activities with children, either in school or outside, organising junior badminton and the local youth club. Her holidays were enjoyed to the full, skiing, walking and her favourite, socialising, making many friends all across Europe. During the winter of 1999/2000 Carol and John decided to look in Spain for somewhere to retire to. They decided on Camposol, and many wonderful holidays were spent there before they eventually retired. Whilst in Spain they made many new friendships, which expanded even more with Carol attending line dancing, (trying) to learn Spanish and just meet friends for a coffee & chat. Carol often 'just popped to the shops' only to return several hours later after bumping into friends and having a 'quick' coffee! Carol was one of life´s givers, always there for other people, to listen, help, but never judge. She was a great Mum, Mother-In-Law, Granny and most of all Wife and friend. Now at peace, with no pain, sitting somewhere drinking a coffee, chatting to friends. Who was Carol? Loving wife of John Little sister to Jill and Barry Mum to Dave, Rich and Si Mother-in-Law to Lucy, Karen and Laura Granny to James, Lauren, George, Jack, Ruby, Skye, Liam and bump (due soon) Friend to you all, plus many others Mrs Pellett to all of her pupils She was the life and soul of every social occasion. Mum raised us 3, always there ready to nuture and care for us. Always ready to listein, help and advise. She watched us grow, start our own families. Mum was never very good at disciplining us, the threat was always 'wait until your Dad gets home', later to become 'I´ll tell your Dad, it´ll sound better coming from me' when informed that they were to become grandparents for the 1st time(too young Mum said!). Mum said to many, I´ll be happy when My Boys are all settled down, so Mum, you can rest peacefully now.
